Season's Greetings 2020
Here's to Your Health!
While there is surely a wide range of opinions about distancing, masks and lockdowns – improving our own personal health is something we can universally
agree on.
At Jetico, our mission has always been to care for the digital well-being of our customers. This year’s pandemic has forced most of us out of our offices and disrupted our normal work routines. Surely caring for our well-being means healthy bodies and minds, as well as healthy computers.
As 2020 closes and a new year approaches, I wanted to share some basic habits I’ve learned and started practicing daily over the past 9 months to improve my own health and boost my immune system. Personally, I now feel stronger and healthier. I’m no medical expert, so please do your own research and consult your doctor as needed.
Some highlights of my everyday routine:
- Exercise
Too busy or can’t get to the gym? Resistance bands are a great simple, inexpensive and effective way to train at your desk or during short breaks at home. When possible, do phone calls while going for long walks outside. - Diet
Intermittent fasting helps cut off excess body fat, among other physical and mental benefits. Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli (maximized in sprout form) powerfully boost your immune system and gut health. - Sleep
Aim for 7-8 hours per night and commit to a regular schedule. Irregular, insufficient sleep makes you more likely to get sick and will slow your recovery. - Stress Management
Set boundaries for working hours, avoiding work late at night or before bed. Find ways to relax like stretching, meditation, journaling, connecting with friends and laughing. ? - Breathing
Often overlooked yet so simple and obvious! Practice long, slow, deep breaths. Nasal breathing releases nitric oxide, which regulates blood pressure and helps fight bacteria and viruses.
Take care and be well!
Happy Holidays!
