What information can be found
This chapter introduces the search filters available in BCWipe Search. You can find files based on what they contain or by their properties, such as name, location, type, size, or date.
The following articles explain the available filters and how to use them.
Search Filters Overview
BCWipe Search offers two main ways to find files. Choose the approach that best matches what you are looking for.
Search Filters by Type of Information
Find files based on the information they contain, even when you do not know their names or locations.
These filters support:
- Keywords and phrases: Find files containing specific words, names, account numbers, or other identifiers.
- Predefined dictionaries: Search for files containing terms associated with a particular topic, such as medical or financial information.
- AI-assisted search (Coming in Beta Update 2): Use a group of sample documents to help AI identify other files containing similar types of information.
Search Filters by File Attributes
Find files based on their properties or by comparing them with a reference file.
These filters support:
- File names and locations: Search by file name, path, or folder.
- File properties: Narrow results by file type, size, or creation, access, and modification dates.
- Identical and similar files: Find exact copies using file hashes or locate documents with similar textual content using a sample file.
🗲TIP: You can combine multiple filters to refine your search. Use AND to find files that meet all specified conditions, or NOT to exclude files that match a condition.
