How to run BCWipe from the right-click menu
When you need to wipe selected files and folders beyond recovery or erase traces of previously deleted files, BCWipe is conveniently available from the right-click menu in Windows Explorer.
To erase a file or folder:
1. Right-click on the target file or folder and select ‘Delete with wiping’.
2. Click ‘Yes’ to allow BCWipe to run with administrator privileges (recommended).
3. Confirm wiping by clicking ‘Yes’ (or ‘Yes to All’ in case of multiple files) in the pop-up dialog box.
This will erase selected files or folders with default wiping settings. For advanced settings of the ‘Delete with wiping’ command, see: Wiping options for the Delete with wiping command
To erase traces of previously deleted files:
1. Right-click on a target disk in Windows Explorer (e.g. Disk C:) and select ‘Wipe free space with BCWipe’
2. Click ‘Yes’ to allow BCWipe to run with administrator privileges (recommended).
3. Confirm wiping by clicking ‘OK’ in the pop-up dialog box.
This will wipe the drive’s free space with default wiping settings. For advanced settings of the ‘Wipe free space with BCWipe’ command, see Wiping options for the Wipe Free Space command
To erase files from Recycle Bin:
1. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and select ‘Wipe Recycle Bin with BCWipe’
2. Click ‘Yes’ to allow BCWipe to run with administrator privileges (recommended).
3. Confirm wiping by clicking ‘Yes’ (or ‘Yes to All’ in case of multiple files) in the pop-up dialog box.
This will erase the files or folders in the Recycle Bin with default wiping settings. For advanced settings, see Wiping options for the Delete with wiping command
To erase traces of files and folders when moving them to another drive:
1. Select the files and folders you want to move.
2. Right click and hold, then drag files to the target drive and drop.
3. Select ‘Move with source wiping’ from the pop-up menu.
4. Click ‘Yes’ to allow BCWipe to run with administrator privileges (recommended).
5. Confirm wiping by clicking ‘Yes’ (or ‘Yes to All’ in case of multiple files) in the pop-up dialog box.
